September's full Harvest Moon will rise in the southeast in the constellation of Pisces just after sunset on Monday, September 20—just two days before Autumn Equinox. This full Moon reaches peak illumination at 7:54 P.M. Eastern Time on the 20th.

Youssef Alaoui busied himself by reading stories weekly in his vodcast Storytelling Live over the COVID lockdown and now he’s ready to share a great story or two with you:
LES BATS: What goes better with a full moon than bats? This tale is about two ghosts in Paris who haunt the bars, alleys, and abandoned belle époque cellars and attic rooms. They hold black magic rituals, summon spirits, climb up walls like lizards, sleep in between the thick walls of old hotels like bats, mess with tourists, and scare the living daylights out of the bourgeoisie. What could be more fun than that? Come along for the ride.
EVIL EYE: A traveler in Tetouan hears a single whistle in the night and had been previously told it would portend their death.
HASSAN BELIEVED: Hassan believed in routine, above all. He also believed that if he should lift his teacup and set it down several times at the same time every day, that the cup would rise and set on its own if he should leave it on its own. One day, he leaves his house and his neighbor Mehdi watches the cup every day while Hassan is gone. The cup does lift on its own. How is this possible?
Books will be for sale at the venue; special venue price. Cash, PayPal, and Venmo accepted.

Frequent gatherings involve an outdoor sunset bonfire in a beautiful secret garden; an informal poetry/music/story sharing circle; & usually a vegetarian potluck. Most events are free & open to the public.
The Woodstock Shivastan Poetry Ashram was started by poet & publisher Shiv Mirabito - it is loosely based on Ed Sanders' LES community Peace Eye Bookshop, Allen Ginsberg's Cherry Valley Committee on Poetry, & the Spirit Catcher Bookshop on Freak Street in Kathmandu. It is the home base of the small press Shivastan Press {Woodstock~Kathmandu} which has published limited edition poetry chapbooks & broadsides on handmade paper in Nepal since 1997 by some of the most exciting poets in America. It is our 24th anniversary this year!
