We will be celebrating the legendary Abiodun Oyewole at the Bowery Poetry Club with a film that he co stars in called "Blind Seer of Coney Island" where he plays a mystical poetry bard wandering the sights of Coney Island as the veil between the spirit world and the physical world becomes thin. Coney Island is cast as a twilight space; in between life and afterlife, where spirits barter with the Voodoo Loa.
Also slated to read is an all star lineup of Tongo Eisen-Martin, Liza Jessie Peterson, Sharrif Simmons, Thea Matthews, Ademola Lewis, and of course Abiodun. FAITH NYC will also play.
It's a super huge event for the mere price of $25 if you buy tickets in advance. $30 at the door. Still affordable.
