This is an exciting weekend. I play the disembodied voice of "Rafael," an old painter and mentor to the main character, Carver. Our long-time correspondence includes tapes I send to him, which he listens to, repeatedly.Rafael is a weathered soul who has seen the best and worst of humanity reflected in his art. Through the recorded voice, his words are both a source of comfort and a challenge for Carver, the play's protagonist.
